Re: restore problem
Thank you so much for your help ... I've done it another way. Yes the other person had installed PC on her computer. I have instead copied the entire program and data from my computer onto a USB stick, pasted it to the new computer, clicked the Install folder and ran I think the .exe file in there. ...

Re: restore problem
Thank you for your reply.
I did change the name of the file. So I did another full backup and saved it to my computer, then emailed it to the person with the new laptop. It still did not work.
I have purchased a new USB stick and will try it that way instead.

restore problem
Hello,
I am trying to restore a backup to a new computer. It's saved on a flash drive as a zip file. The error I'm getting when I try to restore is "No back up files were found on the specific drive." What am I doing wrong?
Nancy

Re: copy PC to new computer
Excellent, thank you so much. I understand now what you were saying....I had neglected to Paste it to my computer first, and it ran from the flash drive. It's actually very easy to move.

Re: copy PC to new computer
Hi Neil,
Thank you for your reply. I pulled the flash drive and found Power Church in my C: drive, but there is no install file there, just these two:
msvcr71.dll
pcstart115.exe
So I tried to run the exe file and got:
Usage: pcstart115 "p:\pcplus115\"
I'm doing something wrong
Nancy

Re: Trial Balance vs. Changes in Equity
Update: I just closed June (our fiscal year end) and the TB accounts still show the beginning balances for the year of the temporary restricted accounts when I print a June 30th TB. If I instead select July, the balances are changed at that point.

Re: Trial Balance vs. Changes in Equity
By definition a Trial Balance should be a list of the total amounts of debits and credits posted to each account, with a matching grand total for the debits and credits at the bottom. During the course of a fiscal year, the restricted 3000 accounts are not accurate if they only show the amount once ...

Re: Trial Balance vs. Changes in Equity
Thank you for your reply Neil. However, this still does not answer the question as to why the TB has one amount and the CIE report has another. At what point does the TB show the actual balance in the equity accounts? This is a problem for our accountant doing the Review, as from their perspective t...

Trial Balance vs. Changes in Equity
Hello, I'm trying to figure out a discrepancy between the equity accounts on the Trial Balance and the Changes in Equity reports. The CIE report shows an ending balance which takes into account the activity in it's associated accounts (income, release), as it should. But the Trial Balance shows no a...

change release account?
I've printed a sub account report below based on my -104 sub accounts. I just did a preview of this post and the report is all bunched together. Hopefully you can understand my question. When I initially set it up the accounts my thinking was to combine our Student Ministries info, both the General ...

Re: Restricted Release in the Income & Expense statement
Yes I suppose I could do that but it still isn't just showing non-restricted in's and outs (just general fund). I'm not concerned about the income being at the top of the page and the expenses being at the bottom. I have a fairly good understanding of basic accounting, I'm just trying to keep it sim...

Re: Restricted Release in the Income & Expense statement
I know I'm replying to an old post here, but I have basically the same question that Debbie did. I understand the release from restriction process and that is an expense. But when I print an Income & Expense statement for our congregation, all they really want to know is how we did against budget, w...

Re: All Sub Accounts not printing
Just out of curiosity, if you run a Journal Report from under Fund Accounting > Reports - Fund Accounting, and make the following selections, are there any results? Leave all the other options at their defaults. Sub-accounts from: 001 To: 001 Accounting months: From: January (earliest year in the l...
