So this is disappointing. Has this been updated any for PCOnline? I want historical data to migrate to a new Fund. What's the workaround?
Thanks in advance.

Reset Mutual Fund Valuation
Hello, Neal. I understand the Unrealized Gains account mechanics, and we've been doing that for some years. The problem now is that we have separated the underlying investments both at the Broker and in PowerChurch. We had been adjusting the unrealized gain/loss as a total value once at year end for...

Re: Tithe set aside from Contributions
Yep, this works out all the kinks by using 'restricted income'. Seems like I should have been doing that all along for a bunch of things we do. https://www.powerchurch.com/files/acct4contrib.pdf was very helpful, as was https://www.powerchurch.com/support/186/2/did-you-hear-the-one-about-the-man-tha...

Re: Tithe set aside from Contributions
Oh, but I wannnaannt to have it both ways, Neil. (the whining now concludes and we move on...)
I will spend some time with the manual and come back to this when I am better acquainted with 'restricted income'.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: Tithe set aside from Contributions
Just curious - how does all this play out on the Income/Expense report? Seems to me that I need an income account AND a liability account if I want to report it correctly. Does this show up on the Contributors' year end statement, as well? Now I'm having second thoughts about it all. What I want to ...

Re: new fund acount ?
Well, I'm thinking that I want to avoid calling it 'income' more than anything else. These are internal transfers, and should not impact the P/L anywhere. What I'm after is only to drain the obligations from the Operating Fund and put them into the Discretionary Fund. As I say in the setup, they are...

Re: new fund acount ?
Much clearer than I was imagining it to be, Neal, yes. Would it confuse things if the deposit into the 05-1410 checking account was recorded as a liability rather than as income? Because it is absolutely up to his discretion where and when to spend it, I have only set up a single 2000 level account ...

Re: new fund acount ?
Hi again Neal, This was a very helpful post, and I am in pretty close to the same situation, with this difference: I want to drain the liabilities from various long past activities and fundraisers that were left over, and now nobody is doing anything with them. 100 dollars here, 450 dollars there, t...

Re: Tithe set aside from Contributions
That works. As long as I can send the 10% to the same liability account, which I just set it up to do now.
Thanks!

Tithe set aside from Contributions
We are tithing all budgeted income to the Church, which we then set aside for donations to community organizations. I see the Automatic Transfers screen in Maintain Contribution Funds, but it's not quite what I need. I want to pull 10% of 'Regular Contributions' and "Building Rentals' and 'Holiday/L...

Re: "Merging" funds
Cool, I hope. But when I open the local desktop version 11.5 it doesn't have that menu choice in the Quick Menu. So the feature was added in v. 12, right? That's interesting, but wait, there's more... Just tried to restore today's online backup onto the local version and got stopped because I don't ...

Re: "Merging" funds
There's a Quick Menu item in Fund Accounting - Merge Accounting Funds - what does that exactly do? I have five funds set up now, but for years past the former treasurer did everything with just one. It got pretty messy about 7 years ago as we then consolidated 3 congregations together. so he just st...
