Contributions through Payroll
We just converted to 11.5 from v9. How do I set up contribution processing for an employee through payroll? I started in the "maintain
items" but there is no way to specify the contribution fund.
Thank you!

Re: V9 941 problem worse! Resolved!
Thank you Lord! Again, User error. There is no glitch in the system. The reason the reports didn't match was because of the journal entry correction I made in the first quarter of $3.50. Medicare was off because I inadvertently checked the "round up" box for some crazy reason. The $3.50 was the corr...

Re:V9 941 problem!update 2 Reports not matching
I just found that what PowerChurch v9 is reporting as collected medicare tax in the Selected Payroll Data report for April is $3.50 more than what is showing on my Cash Balance report of collected medicare taxes. I generally have always paid taxes from the Liability Accounts showing medicare, ss and...

Re: V9 941 problem worse! Update
I found $1.66 of the problem in the medicare calculations. The "round up" problem was not corrected before the mid month checks were written. That still leaves $3.48 that I can't account for. Income tax seems okay as does ss calcs. I am stumped.

V9 941 problem worse!
I reported at the end of 3rd quarter that for the first time my 941 tax calculations in PC were short. In researching with your help I found that the "round up to nearest dollar" box had somehow gotten changed. I corrected that and thought I would check April reporting. The calculation went from bei...

Re: Non Cash Contributions
Thank you. I will take a look at that. It may just be best to trade checks so we have a paper trail and there is no question. I certainly do not want to be on slippery ground. Again, thank you for your help.

Non Cash Contributions
We are in the midst of a building pledge. One member catered a church fellowship for us and wants the catering expense that would have been billed to us, to be credited to his pledge. Is there a way to do that with non cash contributions or would it just be better to pay the bill and let him contrib...

Re: 941 problem version 9
In going through the check stubbs and manually calculating medicare against the reports, you are exactly right. I have no idea how that happened since there were not changes to Medicare this year. I can't imagine why I would change to round up but the box sure was marked. What a headache! Thank you ...

Re: 941 problem version 9
I have found the difference of $3.53 is in the Medicare calculations. I can't quite figure out why. The Tax table percentage is set at 1.450% but it was calculated short in the system this quarter. The only variable is a very part time office employee who's hours change weekly. I separated the offic...

Re: 941 problem version 9
I have been looking at that. I did set up the 4.2 for employees and the 6.2 for employers. I am now looking at calculations on a couple of new employees but haven't found anything yet. Thanks.

941 problem version 9
I am still using PC v9 and have never run into this issue before. My 941 for first quarter shows a balance owed of $3.50. I don't have the round up to nearest dollar box checked. I do have the difference between employee and employer calculations set up. I have double checked to make sure I did not ...

Re: Contribution from one Exempt org to another
Thanks Neil. I could explain sale/disposal of an asset to the organization, but wasn't quite sure about receiving a non-cash item between two exempts. This helps.

Contribution from one Exempt org to another
An exempt organization wants to buy a set of cymbals for a church. If they give the money rather than buy the cymbals, I know that it should be set up as a designated contribution. But, if they actually buy the set, how is that handled? Will a copy of the bill of sale be enough for the church record...

Re: 2011 Changes in employee ss withholding
My PC version didn't match your detailed explanation but I did find a reference to a PC notification in that thread for version 10.4 and prior. It was easy to follow. Thank you so much, you just lifted a TON of stress off my life!! What a blessing!
