Rounding Numbers

Post by Woodsman »

Just got Power Church. After entering contributions and running a report, the report rounds everything to the nearest dollar. How do I change this to include the cents.

Thanks for your help.

Rounding Numbers

Right now I am only using the Unposted Contributions report. It also rounds when I look at the Bank Deposit report. The odd thing about this, other users at our church don't have this problem.

You will need to check your regional and language settings in Windows. From the control panel select Regional and Language Options. Look at the number and currency options and make sure they show two decimal places.

I have been having the same problem, all reports are rounded up. I just checked my settings per Jeff's post and they are showing 2 decimals. Any suggestions? I'm running PC PLUS 10.4 on Vista.

Be sure that both "Numbers" and "Currency" are formatted with two decimals in the Regional and Language options. Different things in PowerChurch Plus are formatted differently. Some are numbers, some are currency.

Thank you for the reply. Both numbers and currency are formatted with 2 decimals. Hopefully I'll find out why it doesn't work right.

Connie,

AFAIK, those are the only settings that Powerchurch uses to display numbers. If these are set correctly on your machine, I don't believe that there is anything in the program that would 'round up' numbers.

Perhaps you can let us know a few things about your setup:

1. Are you running reports directly from your machine, or from a different machine on a network?
2. Exactly which reports are having this problem??

Using PC+ since 1999.

Neil,

I am running the reports directly from my machine. The only report that is rounding up is the Monthly Contributions Totals. Doesn't matter if it's by envelope or by totals only. All are rounded.

Thanks,
Connie

That report is designed to round to the nearest dollar. In general all the reports that print monthly columns will round to the nearest dollar. We design reports to show up to 99,999,999, because we have many clients that receive over a million in income each year.

Reports that show monthly totals need to fit 13 columns of numbers and row titles. In this case, the row title consists of a 5 digit fund number and a 30 character fund description. We have already dropped the font size to an 8 point font, there really is just not enough room on the paper to display all that information and down to penny as well.

Jeff,

Thanks so much for the answer, now I know I'm not doing anything wrong! (on that report at least  )
