e-mailing newsletters

Post by UUofFresno »

We now want to use PowerChurch to send out our newsletters. I tried last month, but ran into problems.
We mail the newsletter as a .pf file. There are about 14 pages to send. I set it up to send 50 every 50 minutes. Since I have about 300 emails to send, I started it before I went home. When I got back the next morning, I found a message that said it lost connection to the internet. I'm not sure how many emails went out, since I didn't get a report. It just stopped sending. We did find that there were problems with the modem, and changed it out. I have not sent any test newsletters since then.
So now my question. Is 50 in 50 to much time, should I make the batch smaller and/or change the number of minutes between sending shorter?
I am using Version 10, with all the updates installed on a XP machine.
Any help would be appreciated

The way that version 10 sends e-mails has made it so that most people, even those with sending restrictions, don't need to use the advanced sending options (x number in y minutes). You might try sending without the throttling, to see if it is required.

PowerChurch Plus should be able to send those 300 messages in a few minutes.

Thanks, I'll give that a try, but I did negelect to say I am sending out the newsletters as an attachment. Does that make a difference? I'm planning on doing a test run later today.

It should not make a difference, but only a test will give a definite answer.
