Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Restarting Accounting

Post by gwen47 »

Plans were to post all of 2013 but due to time restrains we would like to begin with May 2013 as our first month instead of January 2013.
January checks have been manually posted. We would like to wipe the slate clean and start over with May 2013. If we do this, will we only lose the AP postings? Contributions will not be lost. Is that correct?

The Contributions Module and database is TOTALLY independent of the Accounting module. Nothing will be lost. However, once you finish with Accounting, you may have to visit the Contributions Module and update the INCOME & CHECKING account numbers in all your Contributions Funds. These numbers are used when posting to create the proper transactions for Funds Accounting.

What does get wiped out is Funds Accounting, parts of Accounts Payable, parts of Accounts Receivable, and parts of Payroll. You can find out more about what happens on page 251 of the Powerchurch 11.5 printed manual.
