I upgraded to version 9 and to XP at the beginning of the year. In the last 6 weeks, I've been noticing that the buttons (even at login) have disappeared and only the text is left. The most frustrating however is that the scroll bar is gone throughout the application.
It's been an intermittent problem for months but last week it became permanent. Reboots used to restore it back to normal, but not any more. I tried bringing down the latest maintenance today but the problem persists.
Perfect! The switch back to the default XP theme did the trick. I'm not sure why it was intermittent for so long or why it did not affect other applications but I'm back in business again.
