Getting ready to upgrade to v9

Post by bbishop-grace »

We are testing v9 in a live environment (v85 is still in production) and have noticed a significant slowdown in accessing the Integrated Data Entry section.

v9 is running on the same system (and server) as v85 and I am testing it while I am the only one on the network.

Any thoughts or is anyone else experiencing this.

I've not seen anything noticable there. I do know that the reports on older machines take alot of time. I figure that's attributable to the newer version of Seagate Reports that is included.

What is your client and server OS and physical network configuration?

Are you running v8.5 and v9 on the same computer at the same time?

Is anything else running on the PC when you are doing these tests?

Some behavior issues were seen on the Family Members tab of the Integrated Data Entry screen, which were report by NeilZ and jeffkoke ( http://www.powerchurch.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=514 ). This prompted a change released in a maintenance release which increased the speed of this screen. I would not expect most people to see this, as I attempt to validate changes with a large data set and an analyzer running which makes things run much slower on my workstation than the shipped version.

If you are not running the latest maintenance release, I recommend you go get it.
