Screen Preview Garbled in Ver. 9

I just installed Ver 9 and the latest maintenance release. When I screen preview any report the fonts are incorrect and displays only graphics characters or characters from the extended graphics set. I am using a Kyocera Mita KM-3530 KX printer. This printer and driver worked just fine in Ver 8. I have updated the driver from the Mfg but that doesn't help. If I actually print the report most elements print correctly except certain bold text. If I set the default printer to another printer all is fine. I need to use our high-speed network printer. Anyone have a suggestion to correct this problem?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, don't know if this will help your problem, but look at the top of the report preview screen, the size will probably say "full page width". Move the setting to 100% and I think you will be able to read the report more clearly. Don't know if that will cure your printing problem, though. I'm wondering if we can change the default from"full page width" to 100%, do you know?

It's not a problem with font size. I can see the report clearly. The characters displayed are not the correct characters. They appear to be symbols rather than the correct character. I can use a different printer driver and the same view appears just fine.

A few additional pieces of info may help them:

1. Operating System (Win XP or 98, etc)
2. is a printer setup on the computer running PC+, if so, what is it
3. is the network printer using PCL or Postscript

We have had another user report this same problem with the Kyocera printer. After experimenting we found that if you uncheck the use device fonts option in the printer driver, reports will print correctly.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
