A new Maintenance Release for version 9 is now available.

This Maintenance Release is dated 4-23-2007 and after installation, your Program Date should be updated to this date.

You can download this Maintenance Release and find instructions on how to check your Program Date on the following web page:
http://www.powerchurch.com/mr/

There is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document available on our web site at http://www.powerchurch.com/support/answ ... icle_id=59, so if you have any questions or problems relating to the Maintenance Release, please check this document first.

If you are unable to download the Maintenance Release, you can order a copy on CD for only $15 (US) by calling us at (800) 486-1800.

ISSUES CORRECTED IN THIS MAINTENANCE RELEASE:

- Various "File is in use" errors throughout the Fund Accounting system, exclusive access needed

- Error in running Account Activity report, include unposted transactions, when there are no unposted transactions

- It was possible to create a blank Fund Accounting transaction by posting a manual check in Payroll with no items set to Process=Yes

- It was not possible to delete an Accounting Fund if the fund number was 11.

- Unposted Contributions report, incorrect subtotal in certain conditions

- Contribution Statement, "One Time Over Amount" selection now looks at the daily total for all funds, rather than the fund totals for the day.

- Custom W2 layouts were not being included in backups

- Saving a custom report as an Excel file would crash the program and corrupt a table in custom reports if the file was already open in Excel when running the report.

- When using the Add Family Assistant, profile phone numbers were carrying over to other family members

- Locate list incremental search improved

- Export for Lifetouch Pictorial Directory, e-mail added and file format updated to new standard

- Under specific conditions, PowerChurch Plus could confuse users with similar names, saving user preferences to the wrong user.

4-23-07 Maintenance Release Caused Issues With Backup (PC+9)

I downloaded & installed the latest maintenance release from 4-23-07 on 4-28-07 for PC+ version 9. Since I installed it, I cannot successfully use the backup to restore the files from PC+. It backs up fine & verifies fine, but whenever I try to restore a backup from that date to present, it restores & when it is extracting the files, it pops up an error window stating: "Program: PCREIND, Line: 265, Error: 41, Message: Memo file C:\powerchurch\pcplus9\data\vi.fpt is missing or invalid." Then it closes PC+. Using backup files before this date work correctly & restore fine. I tried to reinstall PC+ 9, reinstall the January maintenance release, use other types of media to backup all to no avail. I have been using a USB drive for about a year to backup media as well as a CD-R once a week. These have been working perfectly but now I cannot successfully backup any data. When I reindex the files, everything reindexes correctly but the membership files where it states the same error message. The error must be in the membership portion of the files, but nothing has changed except the installation of the new maintenance release (April, 2007) when this problem occured. Any solutions?

The error that you are seeing is in reference to one of your data files being damaged or corrupted. The table in question, VI, stores Visitations information. I think this is a coincidence with installing the Maintenance Release around the same time.

You have the option, when restoring a backup, to "Restore Selected Files" from the backup.

My suggestion would be to take the newest of the backups that restore without erroring (before the file was corrupted) and use the restore selected files option, choosing only to restore the VI.CDX, VI.DBF, and VI.FPT files.

The second step would be to restore one of the newer backups that DOES error, choosing to restore selected files there as well. This time, use the Select All button to make sure that everything is checked to restore from the backup, then go down to the bottom of the list and uncheck the VI.CDX, VI.DBF, and VI.FPT files.

Once this restore process is complete, you will have a good set of data with no corrupted data files.

Thanks for the quick reply! I restored the program to the latest good saved zip file I could find. It restored okay but when I went back to re-enter info in the accounts payable module, as soon as I posted it to the funds accounting module & tried to get a report on unposted transactions, it came up with an error stating the engine that generates the report could not be opened. I loaded PC+ 9 again but no change. Finally I uninstalled PC+ 9 on the computer entirely & then did a fresh reinstall. I am using the maintenance release from January 2007 update & everything is working correctly now, as far as I can tell. I am a bit concerned at loading the April 2007 maintenance release as the software quit working correctly after this install. I hope this is now corrected! Again, I am impressed with the quick reply! Thanks!!

I tried to install the latest V9 release and I got the following error:

Recource File Version Mismatch

Then I got this error message:

Can you help me with this, please?
