Preferred name

Is it possible to use the preferred name for mailing labels and the fast data entry? We are using version 8.5.

As an example, we have several families where father & son share the same first name, but the son is called by a middle name or nickname. In those cases, I enter the son's full given name, then a preferred name. I also make sure the salutation field has the full name. In spite of this, mailing labels & fast data entry continue to pull the given name. I suppose I could just enter the preferred name in the given name field, but I hate to lose the full name for record keeping purposes.

Unfortunately, there's no way to do that for fast data entry in Attendance, but you can create a custom report for mailing labels. There's a walkthrough available in our Knowledge Base. All you'd have to do is make sure you include the preferred name and edit the rest of the report to your specifications.
