Visit Area Report

Post by joshvv »

I am setting up PowerChurch Online and have used the "Visit Area" field to assign the members to different visiting sections which I named "Section 1", Section 2" etc. When I create and run a custom report the visit area names that I created are not shown, only some kind of two letter generic code (eg. "CG", "HA" etc.)

For all of the code fields, you will find there are two entries in the field list. The code and the description. Visit area will look like this in the field list:

Visit Area
Visit Area Description

Choose the description field if you want the plain text description. Choose the other if you want to see the two digit code that is stored in the database.

That's what I thought, but that doesn't seem to work either. I just get blanks. I even attempted a report with both those fields, the visit area gives me the two character code but the visit area description is blank.

It looks like this was previously reported as a bug, but was fixed in a June 2010 Maintenance Release for Version 11. Make sure that you are running the latest Maintenance Release:

I am running PowerChurch Online (v11.1). That should always give me the latest. No?

It should, but I would definitely check to see that the date of the program is 12/06/10 !

I would download the latest update, then install it manually. There was a bug in the updating system that was repaired at some period near that time, and it appears that you didn't get the update.that fixed it.

Oh, I missed in your initial post that you are using PowerChurch Online. Yes, that is always kept up to date automatically with the latest Maintenance Releases.

Program Development is checking on this at the moment. It looks like the QM_DICT data file that drives the Custom Report Writer may have not been copied over after the Maintenance Release.

It looks like he is currently connected to the new server, which just came back online. It has a November 2, 2010 program date, because it was down when the latest MR was published. It will be updated shortly.
