Format Address Labels in Activities Module

We have Windows XP Professional, Version 2002 and PowerChurch Plus Version 9. We have installed the November Maintenance Release.
I still can't format labels in the Membership Module. I am particularly interested in printing mailing labels that correspond to Activity Codes.
I have gone to File, Preferences, Mailing Labels and tried to Customize the font, the point size, and even to center the text on the label itself.
But when I try to print, nothing has changed. The label text first line prints at the very top of the actual label and the full text is skewed toward the left. The text is not in the font I selected nor is it the right size or bold.
When I go back to check preferences, what I put in has been saved -- just not applied in practice.
I have adjusted preferences under the System Administrator and under my personal log in. Nothing works.
Can anyone help? The top line of the labels prints right on the edge or just onto the bottom of the prior row. I am throwing away too many labels.
