How to import members from Excel ?

We have our member list information details stored inside an excel file (which could be easily be converted to a comma delimited, or a tab delimited file). Is there a way to import that file into the membership table of powerchurch ?
P.S. We can format the column names and order if needed.
Thanks.

You can import the Family Mailing List data, but not any personal data. Here's a forum thread that explains it in more depth.

As you will note, there is a data conversion process that the PC+ staff can do for a fee.
Hope this helps.

I understand that the data could be converted for a fee. But I need to know if the data could be converted by hand through the import and export mechanism.
1) First, do you have some kind of import mechanism that an external file (a csv, an excel, a tab delimited, or access) could be brought in at 1 shot and fill up the PC+ table ?
2) What database does the PC+ use internally ? Is it foxpro ?
3) Could any of the data be taken in (imported), or out (exported) through the "database manager" utility in PC+ ? Also, do you have a document or a forum thread that explains all the commands available for the "database manager" utility ?
4) Our data could easily be formated and ordered in any kind of column arrangement necessary. The only question is, wether then the data could still be converted manually by ourselves, or do we have to use your data conversion service which you offer for a fee ?
Thank you in advance for the time taking to answer these questions.

1. there is NO import mechanism that will import data other than the name and address for the Family Mailing List.
2. It is Foxpro as I mentioned above
3. See number 1 ...
4. See number 1 ...
FWIW ... i'm only a 7 year user of the program, but I'm speaking from experience. We entered the data for our church from scratch, rather than trying to import from two separate Access databases. This gave us a chance to verify the data, and to clear out information that should have been deleted previously.
Getting the data converted properly by Powerchurch Software is money well spent. They have the expertise and the personnel to do it and make sure that the data is correctly formatted to properly load.
