Does anyone know if there is a way to get the SS Teachers to show up on the class they teach with something that distinguishes them from the students and in the class they are suppose to be in is there a way to get them to show up on the report, but not on the attendance? Where their names are bold or at the very top?

Thanks

The way we usually suggest doing this is to establish a skill level for each activity. For instance, a student in a sunday school might have a skill level of 1 and the teacher may have skill level 5 or something. Of course, this doesn't remove them from the class list for attendance.

In version 9, we've added the ability to assign roles to a particular activity. You could establish a role of "teacher" that could be assigned to the appropriate person in each activity.

This is exactly what we have setup right now. I have a teacher, assistant teacher, helper (usually a teenager) and students defined for each SS class.

I recently upgraded to Powerchurch 9, where I can assign teachers, members, etc. to each profile. I'm not sure how to get the title of teacher to show up on the attendance register form, tho. Please help.

I believe this to actually be a bug. My wife and I have fought with this "role" issue this morning. The pre-packaged reports in Activities and Skills will report on the person's specific "role" within an activity. However, under custom reports, we are not given access to anything except the "default role" So, if you have an activity that has 5 roles within the one activity, you will get a custom report with everyone in the same role.

Using the database manager, we brought up the SK table. The 12th column over on the list is the "Role" field which is what we want to query. This field lists a 2 digit code (XR for instance) that references back to a description in the SKCODES table. The SKCODES table is updated each time you create a role. It correlates three pieces of information, the activity role "ACT_ROLE" to the "CODE" and finally to "DESCRIPT"

So Tech Support. Can this be fixed? We need to be able to do a custom list of members to an activity, while listing the actual role of the member. In fact, in the Pre-packaged attendence report where you can print out a roster with the squares, it would be very nice to have the role placed in this report, so you can have something like:

Jane Smith, Teacher
Mary Jones, Asst Teacher
Bill Williams, Student
John Smith, Student

I believe this was an oversight in development. The Roles feature is brilliant, very much needed and very much appreciated. However, without custom report access to the specific role description for a person (not the default) the feature becomes almost completely useless other than just looking on the screen to see what a person does.

I hope this can be fixed.

Thanks so much and God Bless

For people reading this thread later, the 12/2/2004 MR of version 9 fixes this issue. Activity Roles have been added as an available field in the custom reports and it was an oversite the slipped through.

Teacher attendance

We have V9 and I've read through the string of responses. However, I do not see a way to distinguish teachers from the standard attendance reports. We run the "Activity Attendance Report" each week and include the prev 3 months to date. This will give the teachers a histroy of the attendance for potential follow up.

I see the teacher/asst teacher role but can someone confirm what standard reports these appear on?

As well as other ideas?
