Moving a user profile to a group profile

Post by shi45fty »

Have been using individual user profiles for several years, but never group profiles. Have just created group profiles, and have following question: what must I do to move an existing individual profile to a group? IAW, must the individual profile be cleared, deleted, or otherwise modified in preparation for the move to a group profile?

There isn't a way to move a profile (and all of their permissions) to a group. You would just add the user as a member of the group. You don't necessarily need to clear all of their existing permissions. PowerChurch will work out the higher permissions level allowed between the group and their individual permissions. If you only want what is set at the group level, then you could clear all of their user permissions before adding them to the group.
