Internet domain name registrar GoDaddy.com went down today. Mypowerchurch.com and ourchurchfamily.net (OneBody) are both registered through GoDaddy, and they are configured to point to our actual servers from there. (For the technical-minded of you, their DNS servers went down).

PowerChurch Online is still up and running just fine, and you can get there via IP rather than the domain name "apps.mypowerchurch.com." The IP address for that server is 72.250.241.12 - just replace apps.mypowerchurch.com in the IDS client with that IP and everything will work as you expect.

It's not advised to keep your IDS client set up this way though, because that IP *could* change in the future. If that happens, apps.mypowerchurch.com would be updated to point to the new IP so you wouldn't have to change anything. That's the whole point of domain names and domain name servers!

Makes two of us, I have 4 church websites that are hosted on GoDaddy servers, and the only way I can access is direct IP address.

When all else fails, check the Support Forum! ...I have been "stressing" for the last hour, thought something was wrong with my computer. Thanks for the IP info ...hopefully I can work around with this until all is back to normal.

It looks like everything is back to normal, but due to the way domain names work, it may not work for everyone right away. It's working for us here, so feel free to try apps.mypowerchurch.com again. If it doesn't work, switch back to the IP, then try again later.

I've got updates to do ... not fun

I just checked and my gmail is working. So it is either fixed already or it is not effecting everyone.
