PRO VERSION???

Post by budgettax »

Anyone know if there is a pro version of Power Church 10 available. I am an accountant and have been hired by a church that bought powerchurch but didn't know how to use it so I installed it on my computer and do all of the church's financial reports and bill payments.

I like PowerChurch enough that if I were to get additional church clients I'd like to use it, but as far as I can tell the version that I have is good for only one church... is there a version that is available that will allow for multiple church users? I'm not adverse to paying a license fee for each additional church that I sign up if I can.

What you see is what you get.

Powerchurch is licensed to each church site. That is, a church has one site license, then can install it or network it across as many of its computers as it wants. However, you cannot use it with mulitple churches, each church would have to buy its own full price copy.

However, for the money they get a very useful tool, at a very reasonable price.

This is a good time to mention that PowerChurch can handle a "multi-site" church scenario.

When we went to multiple services, we held each in a different location. We now have 4 "churches", the same way a traditional multi-service church would have 4 services at one location.

All of our bookkeeping is done from our central location, because we are still just "one" church with multiple services.

PowerChurch is well able to keep track of the accounting for our 4 locations. 3 of the locations have their own missions budget. We also run a "for-profit" par-3 golf course, an endowed college ministry, and a homeschooling enrichment program.

Each church that you are referring to will need its own license. But it's unlikely that any one church will outgrow Powerchurch.

Don't expect to outgrow powerchurch... I guess when it comes down to it I'll have to buy something like Quickbooks or something if there is no ability to switch to a different church with different set of chart of accounts and such.

If anyone from PowerChurch is reading I wouldn't mind paying additional license fees for each church added if a multi-church format would become available.

Buy a seperate copy of Power Church for each church, licensed to each church. Instal each copy in a seperate dirwctory on your computer. You can give each copy anindividual name. It will work fine.
I did something like this with our churches program, where I wanted to play with the setup of one copy, without harming the official copy.
