PRINTING CHECKS WITH LASER PRINTER

Post by budgettax »

Does anyone know...

In order to pay bills via check our church requires the signatures of 2 board members. Can these signatures be scanned into the software so they'll be printed on the check when the checks are printed... if so can someone walk me through the process?

Thanks,
TIM

No it cannot be done, and I hope that the software does not get changed to do this.

The reason two signatures are needed is to protect both the church, and the treasurer from any type of malfeasance. Every day you read or hear of churches being embezzled by someone whom they thought would never do such a thing. If the signatures could be scanned into the software, whats to stop any unscrupulous person from gaining access to the accounting module, and printing out a bunch of checks for their own use.

I can see your point, but it seems silly that the software wouldn't have that capability because of the potential of a few people that would misue it. I'm an accountant and have been hired by the church that I use Power Church for and I provide complete records and reconciliation with the church's bank statement to the church's board members every month... detail on the most minute level so it wouldn't be an issue here, it just is hard to get bills paid on time when I have to have two board members sign the checks after I've issued them.

I have found a workaround though that won't require the PowerChurch to have this capability.
