Update of Manual Payroll Checks

Post by FirstMOBC »

Our first payroll through power church will be 3/20/ 2011. We have been processing payroll checks manually. How do we update the manual payroll information from January 2, 2011 to March 13,2011. Journal Entries or Salary history in the payroll module?

You can change the payroll date to a previous date and run the payroll for that date. Change the date, and repeat, and repeat, etc.

I think everything will post to the current working month in Fund Accounting (presumably March) even though the payroll dates are Jan and Feb.

Maintain Item Description In Payroll Module

Post by FirstMOBC »

I don't see our main bank account G/L number in the 940 screen under the maintain item description. What did I miss to get the bank account G/L number to appear?

940 screen ??

Do you mean the built in Employer's Social Security screen ?? You should only see the Liability account, and the expense account setup to cover this cost.

The reason for this is that you are creating liability entries that you will be paying out later. This is not something that comes out of the bank account at time of payroll check creation.

Considering this is your first use of the Payroll system, you have created different Social Security items for Employer's contribution, and Employees withholding of Social Security tax, right ??

The employee's withholding item will only show the Liability account as the money will be coming out of the employee's gross pay to be paid later.
