Changing "Date Entered"

Post by WCCA »

Hi,

I was going through my transactions just now and realised that there's a group of transactions that were entered in August 2011 for some of April's transactions due to the wrong time and date on the main computer's clock. (I hope that makes sense to you)

Just wondering if there's anyway I can rectify that? the posting month and posting dates however are all correct.

Thank you.

Regards,
Nic

If the posting month and date are correct, and all reports reflect the correct income/expenses for April, then is there really a need to fix these transactions??

The reason I ask is that you'd probably have to reverse each one, and re-enter using the correct date.

Do you remember receiving a warning before you posted the transactions?

John, that's a good question. If the computer date was wrong, with the date set for August 2011, would they get an error if posting to an earlier month ??

Neil:

I just tried it, and it would generate a warning.

Yes, after the warning. Then it appears in the posting month, not the date of the transaction, on reports.
