Deposit Discrepancy - Account Reconciliation

How can a deposit in Reconciliation not reflect the same amount in Contributions. Could there be a system glich?

Fund Accounting Deposit: $2,000
Contribution Total: $2,500
Actual Bank Deposit: $2,500

Apparently, $500 was posted in Contributions to a Contribution Fund that does not include your checking account as the DB account.

Run a Fund Report in Contributions, and see which Funds were used in the Contribution. Then, check each Fund listed to see which accounting fund is associated with it in the Debit column.
