Fixed assets

Post by TBCgunni »

I was wondering how to change a fixed asset on the balance sheet?? We have one vehicle that is showing a negative asset amount that needs to be a positive. Is there a way to change that? Thanks - Elida Jacobs

In a double-entry accounting system, you don't really CHANGE something. You either REVERSE it, or enter an entirely different CORRECTIVE TRANSACTION.

I suggest the following. You will need to run an Account Activity report on that account to see what transactions caused the incorrect amount.

Accounting / Fund Accounting / Reports / Account Activity

You may have to reverse one, or all, of the transactions applied to that account.

Locate the incorrect transactions in View Posted Transactions and hit REVERSE on the incorrect transactions.

Accounting / Fund Accounting / View Posted Transactions

After that, apply the correct transactions to that account.
