We've been updating the system to reflect unrealized Gains/Losses as described in a topic elsewhere, but I was wondering, do you reset the value of the mutual fund at the beginning of the year ??
If so, could you describe the procedure ??

I would say no, but would need to do further research. The amounts are still unrealized as you have not made any changes to the Mutual Fund. There are other types of accounts that work this way. Accumulated depreciation accounts keep growing and you don't change their corresponding asset account.
