I am new to power church. Very new. I have been trying to use the program with not too much success. I had someone set up the chart of account for me but I have no idea what they mean. So far I have only been able to enter information on membership and contributions, but I am stuck on accounting. I don't know how to enter the beginning balances and the expenses. Can someone help me please?
Thanks

Unfortunately, trying to assist via this forum is often frustrating. Just trying to understand double entry accounting, which PCPlus uses, can be scary.

I would have not had someone enter the Chart of Accounts, but just sketch it out on paper, then I would have used the Accounting Wizard to actually start accounting.

The wizard walks you through all these questions such as the 'starting balances', and so on.

I do suggest that you sign up for the online training for Funds Accounting 101, Funds Accounting 102 and Accounts Payable that is available via Powerchurch. This training will definitely help you with understanding the Accounting system of Powerchurch.

So what do you suggest I do?
Would the training help me do what I need to do as far what has been don already and going forward?
I want to start using this program as of January and I don't want too much time to go by for me to have to catch up to.
I was looking around for training, and I found different people offering training. This is how I found the person that created the chart of account for me and I though he would enter the beginning bal. and walk me through the first transactions, but that did not happen.

That is unfortunate, the person who was offering the training should have assisted you in using the Wizard to setup your accounts. The online training is done by Powerchurch personnel, and they are 'live' and available for you to ask questions. The Training will definitely assist you in understanding how to use the system.

You don't have a church or location listed, perhaps if you did, you may find that there is someone near by who can give you some assistance.
