Accidentally DONE checking account...how do I fix?
I accidentally hit the DONE button on the checking account and I still needed to have a transaction in that month. Is there any way to use the restore function to restore JUST the checking account back to before I hit the DONE button? ( I noticed the restore function asks if you want to do an entire restore or just certain files.) Or, is there nothing I can do to get the needed transaction into the month I accidentally hit Done on? Any suggestions? Thanks

Are you talking about a CLOSED month, or a month that you were doing a reconciliation. Your description does not sound familiar. If you could be more detailed about what you were doing, it would help.blsvcma wrote:I accidentally hit the DONE button on the checking account and I still needed to have a transaction in that month. As far as the backup, unless you've done an accounting backup, you can only restore the entire backup. Even if you have done an accounting backup, you're backing up all the accounting data, not just the 'checking account'.

If you are saying that you completed the bank reconciliation instead of hitting postpone, you can actually go through and unreconcile all the transactions that you had marked cleared in that reconciliation and start it over. When you first go into the Reconcile Bank Accounts screen, where it asks for the bank statement date and balance, there is an option to view only unreconciled transactions or all data. Choose all data.
This will show all of your posted transaction history in the account. Go through the same process as clearing the transactions to unclear the appropriate ones for this month (double click, hit enter, however you normally toggle them to cleared). Once you have got them all toggled back, you can postpone the reconciliation. When you go back in to that screen, you can then do the reconciliation process as you normally would.

Do you know ... in the whole time I've been reading this (over 10 years at least) I don't remember seeing that advice before. Or if I did, it didn't register ...
