Filing 941's Electroncally

Post by FirstMOBC »

When filing W2's and 1099's the third party display price for 941's. I do not see that option in Power Church. Does anyone know if Power Church is working on filing 941's electroncally?

I've not heard anything on this yet, that said, we just use the IRS's online entry for the 941s, just as easy, and doesn't cost a dime ;)

It is in the works, but has not been completed yet. It will cost to electronically file the form. PowerChurch will print a 941 that you can mail in, or you can also use the process Neil mentions

I thought you had to go through a third party to file 941's electronically. I know you make payments on line but am unaware of any process to submit form 941 on line.

Tom ... the EFPTS will allow you to make monthly payments, and then process the quarterly 941 online. We've been doing that for over a year now.

I have been making the monthly payments thru EFTPS for some time now as well. But see no way to file the quarterly 941 form there. How are you doing that?

My bad ... it appears that our Treasurer uses a company that provides this service for $5.50 a month. Didn't realize what she was doing different .. ;(

We may just start using the form out of Powerchurch, cost: first-class postage ;)

Thanks for the reply on this Neil. I was beginning to wonder about my vision. :D

I do not understand why the IRS has not provided a way to file these reports on line without a third party provider. We are in Ma. and the state has a provision to report and pay all needed taxes and quarterly forms on line. I wonder if I will live long enough to see this change.

I agree ... it will happen eventually, since the Social Security Administration has created a way to file W3's electronically through a web interface, the IRS is just slow .. ;)
