EFTPS

Post by TBCgunni »

In the 4th Qtr of 2012 I had an overpayment with my EFTPS payment and indicated on the form that I would put it against the next payment. Well I am just taking that overpayment with the April monthly payment. How do I change the amounts in the PC Manual Check Entry that is created out of the PR module?? How do I figure what to change? I know how to change them - but not how to figure the amounts for FED. SSI and MED. Thank you . Elida Jacobs

Elida .. basically, you have to figure what the overpayment was for in January for the 2012 payment, and deduct appropriately.

The EFTPS system should have given you an idea of what was overpaid.

I know the total amount of the overpayment but not how it breaks down into the 3 deductions.

I would figure out what the correct tax withhold was on the last quarter, then what the SS was supposed to be (remember employees paid 2% less last year), and then Medicare.

This is fairly easy to do based on the total salary for that quarter.

This online calculator should help with all of that:

Okay - So not understanding how to do this. This was for 4th QTR of 2012 - it was $165.30 overpayment. I am just now taking it for the month of April 2013. The total payment for April is $306.84 - with $165.30 overpayment deduction the payment is $141.54 that I made online with EFTPS. How do I brake it down for the entry into Power Church with the FED, MED and SSI. Sorry for bothering you - just so nervous about doing this wrong. Thank you - Elida Jacobs

OK ... quick question, do you have a copy of your end-of-year 941 ?? That should show how much you SHOULD have paid out for the quarter and the year, right ??

That should give you a breakdown of each tax area.
