Release Funds Debit Credit Error

I am using version 9 and have released funds before and do not remeebr getting the error message. Now I am getting "Total debits and credits in each accounting fund do not balance" when I try to relase funds. I am using manual checks to pay stuff. Our pastor came back from Dare 2 Share and I re-Imbursed him for the hotel rooms using Dare 2 Share restricted funds. I believe I follwed the procedures in the Accounting for Contributions handout in the tech support forum. Here is what I did

Debit 01-6301-101 Dare 2 Share Expense
Credit 01-1110-000 Church Checking
Debit 01-4807-101 Dare 2 Share Release(Closes to 01-3207-101 D2S Equity)
Credit 01-4999-000 Release from Restriction

When I went to save the transaction I got the "Total debits and credits in each accounting fund do not balance" Message

Double check that each account in the transaction actually does start with "01"

The message that you are getting means one or more of the accounts are not in the 01 fund. This is a soft warning, it will allow you to post the transaction, but it will result in each of your funds being out of balance.

If a transaction is to use accounts in different funds, each fund needs to have a balanced debit and credit amount.

Zorak,

All the accounts are 01 accounts. I did notice that the "This account is a release account" block was not checked. It is checked now

Also should the 4999 close to the 01-3207-101 Dare 2 Share equity account?

The release account 4807 should close to 3207 restricted
The released from restrictions acct 4999 should close to 3110 unrestricted

The 4999 does close to 3110 unrestricted.

One more question should each restriction have its own relase from restriction account i.e.
Dare 2 Share 4999-101
Local Feeding 4999-102
Missions 4999-103

Or do they all use 4999 by itself?

Glad to hear it!

The overall 4999-000 is fine to use by itself. The individual 4800 release accounts will report the separate amounts released.
