All Sub Accounts not printing

Hello,
I have used the contributions module for years and am new to the Accounting module (not to accounting) and have just set it up.
I've set up sub accounts of -001 and then printed a sub account report to see how it looks. But only some of the -001 accounts print up (even tho I check inactive accounts just to be sure its including everything). Not sure what I'm doing wrong????
Thank you,
Nancy

When you go to run the Sub Account report, are there check marks in all 5 categories of accounts (e.g. Asset, Liability, Fund Balance, Income, Expenses)?

No, I didn't think I needed too because all the accounts were expenses. I tried it just now and it didn't make a difference.

I thought I posted to this yesterday but apparently did not hit the submit button. If there is no posted activity to the account it does not show up on the report. At least that is what I find in V11.5. I do not see any way to force the report to print all accounts whether they have activity or not. I actually like it this way because the report is not cluttered with accounts with nothing but zero's in them, which is the way it used to be.

I don't find the above to be the case.
-I have six -001 sub accounts created, five of them are level 4's and one of them is a level 5, and they are all of course "detail" accounts.
-They all have no activity as I've just initiated the accounting module.
-They are all in the same fund.
-Only 3 of the 6 accounts show on the sub account report, two of the level 4's and the level 5.
I would like to use these sub accounts to create reports for certain ministries or information about like expenses, but having them print inconsistently like this, I'm not sure it will work or why it's even not being consistent ???

What version are you using?

I'm using the latest version, 11.5.

Are you sure you don't have any activity entered into the accounts you are seeing? Beginning balance for instance. Because no matter what I do here I can not get any account with no transactions in them to show in the report. Maybe I am missing something here also.

I just did some checking to see when this changed and the report changed in v11.5. Prior to that - I could only verify this in V10.4 and 11.1 - the report included all sub-accounts whether there was activity or not.

I figured it out!
No, there is no beginning balance or activity or ending balance. BUT, the ones that printed with these zero balances each have BUDGETED amounts. The accounts that didn't print don't have budgets entered for them. That is the difference.
So this give me confidence that as data is entered into these other accounts that they will print on the report as well.
Thank you Tom for sticking with me on this one! I guess you learned something too
I'm sure I'll be back for something else as I get going more with the software. For now I'm excited that I can use the sub accounts as I had hoped, to show income and expenses for a ministry on their own reports.

That makes sense.
Since none of the sub-accounts that I print reports on have budgets I never even thought of that. So yes I learned something also. The question is, how long will I remember it?
As far as coming back with more questions in the future. This is the best forum I have ever seen as far as getting help is concerned. There are a lot of very knowledgeable users, as well as PC+ tech support, that watch this forum regularly and you get responses very quickly.
Glad you got it figured out.

I learned something new too. This is a good tidbit to know regarding how this report is generated.

Testing this behavior in Version 11.5, it seems the budgeted account with zero activity is only included if you check the option to include budget amounts on the Report Options screen. If that box is unchecked, the zero account with budget is not included.

That was not my experience. I have zero activity of any kind (other than a budgeted amount) in my -001 accounts, have NOT checked to print the budgeted amounts, and they were still printing.

Just out of curiosity, if you run a Journal Report from under Fund Accounting > Reports - Fund Accounting, and make the following selections, are there any results? Leave all the other options at their defaults.
Sub-accounts from: 001 To: 001
Accounting months:
From: January (earliest year in the list)
To: December (latest year in the list)
If not, then it sounds like a bug of some sort, but I'm not able to pin down where it might be breaking and we will need to do more in-depth research, possibly even getting an Accounting Files backup from you so we can try to recreate the issue.
