incomplete income and expense reports

Post by wandam »

I am using Power Church 9. Because there are different uses for the different levels of budget reporting, I use summary level four for some income and expense reports. In previous versons, a higher summary level summed up lower levels, filled in the result with budget percentages and included monthly and year to date zero's if there were no activity. Now when I sum to level 4 not all percentages for budget appear and some columns that should show 0.00 are blank. For example we have in the database as budget the salaries for all employees. But we only report that out in general as a sum for categories of employees (groups) that include clergy, program and support. I get group $ totals for these groups, but the percentage field is blank. In a phone call I was told to budget at the group level, but I don't want to do that because I use the individual salary budget data for some activities. And I need 0.00 in expense columns what that applies. The reports that I get at level 4 look really bad and trying to export to excel to get it all filled in is time comsuming and destroys other formating of the report. Can this be fixed for levels above level 6 to get reports like I used to get in previous versions of PowerChurch?

If you are getting a report that resembles this, it is being worked on.
(Run as Level 4)

Code: Select all

Level 2
   Level 3a
      Level 4a	0.00
      Level 4b	0.00
   Level 3b
      Level 4c	4.00
   Level 3c
      Level 4d	5.00
Total Level 2 9.00
(Run as Level 3 - note the missing 0.00 from Level 3a)

Code: Select all

Level 2
   Level 3a
   Level 3b 4.00
   Level 3c 5.00
Total Level 2	9.00
If you are seeing something else. Can you explain it further?

I'm not sure if it is like that or not. Here is my try at an example using your format --

Level 4 report with main group at level 2, no level 3, and budget at level 5

Level 2
current mo. yr. to date budget percent
Level 4a 2.00 12.00
Level 4b 1.00 2.00 12.00
Level 4c 12.00

Subtotal Level 2 1.00 4.00 36.00 11.11%

I need percentages for Level 4 and 0.00 where there is no expense to make the report look finished. In previous version of PowerChurch it was
filled in completely.

addendum to example, income and expense report

the message didn't go with the spacing, so I will try again -- Level 4 report, main group at level 2, no level 3, and budget at level 5.

Level 2
...................current mo........yr to date......budget......percentage
......Level 4a............................2.00............12.00
......Level 4b.......1.00...............2.00............12.00
......Level 4c...............................................12.00

subtotal level 2...1.00................4.00............36.00.......11.11%

I need percentages at level 4 and 0.00 where there was no activity.

I believe we are talking about the same behavior. Let me know if the next Maintenance Release doesn't fix the problem.
