We just upgraded to 9.0. We wanted to do this in the old version but could not. Hoping someone can tell us how to do it now.

We have a missions fund. Now we want to add another fund within the mission fund. This new fund holds the funds for short term mission trips. There are income and expenses associated with this account but are distributed only for mission trips. We want the funds to show within the mission chart of accounts and not in a different fund.

Can this be done and how do we go about it?

There are a couple of ways it can be accomplished, depending on the reporting you need and how exactly your church views the money. Take a look at the following document. It explains how version 9 was setup to handle donor restricted money. This document is also on the version 9 CD.
