Missions Payment

Good Evening All,

I have a question regarding paying for a missions trip. The church decided to help one of our members with a missions trip. She is not going with us, but with another group. The question is, should I write the check to her directly or contact the organization and make a donation from the church to them and have them designate it for her expenses?

I hoep someone out there has experience with this

Regarding Missions Payment

Contact the organization and send the check to them. DO NOT notate the individuals name on the check but on an enclosed letter. My understanding is this keeps it clean for the IRS.
