PC checks printing error

Post by tcf »

In preparing 10 checks for accounts payable, we went through the menus to print, and got this error message:

PC CHECKS
line 114
error 1298
detail band is too large to fit on page

When we clicked OK to this error message, Powerchurch shut down and it wouldn't print. We tried rebooting, we tried to restore the data again, to no avail. this is the first time we've ever gotten this error message. I then backed up the accounting files to a flash drive, took it to a different computer with Powerchurch on it, restored it there, and was able to print the checks without a problem. We then backed up and restored the data showing the checks written to the main accounting computer.

I searched this forum for a similar problem and found nothing resembling this. Any ideas?

Thanks

This is usually caused by printing to a printer with the paper in landscape mode rather than portrait. In landscape, the paper is not tall enough to print all the information.

To fix this, Click Start, control panel, select printers, right click on your printer and select properties. Check that the default paper orientation for the printer is set to portrait. You might need to go into Printing Preferences to set the paper orientation.

thanks, that must be the problem. someone had no doubt changed the orientation to print something else and never changed it back. I appreciate your help.

I am also having this problem. However, I checked the paper orientation and it is set as portrait as the default. Any other suggestions?

If you have a custom check setup in PowerChurch, check the height of the check. Also check the default paper size set on the printer.

Checked both, using the check at top with 2 stubs below setting and the default paper size is correct. Still get the same error message and shuts down PC.

You are probably going to need to call support on this so they can work with you.
