Technically, my first problem is that my mother-in-law is the church secretary! However...

Problem 1:
The first problem is that the church is purchasing a CD. My mom-in-law wrote a manual check and I need to know what type of accounts I need to create so this cd will reflect on our reports. I think I'm making this more difficult than it is!!

Problem 2:
Rather than creating a transaction for an insurance payment for hail damage, she created an envelope number in contributions for the insurance company, put it under "non-taxable contributions" and then deleted their envelope a week later. I can't get this $22,000 out of contributions, which is messing up all reports!

First off ... I'd make sure that the MIL is not setup to access contributions. If she has to have access, then remove any permissions to change and post contributions.

Now with Problem 2, what happened was when she deleted the envelope, the contribution record moved to the system envelope number. You can do two things to get rid of this entry.

If you know the date of the entry, and there were no other contributions entered on that date, you can use the Delete Old Data function to delete it from the database. Just use the date of entry as the beginning and ending dates.

That should clear up your records. Now, if there were other contributions entered on that date, you can't use this method.

The other method involves using the Database Manager. And for that, I'd give the Powerchurch support line a call for directions.
