Memo fields

Is there any way by which we can enter a good memo description to the tranaction that we enter in the accounting module i.e Accounts payable or journal entry. In the version we are currently using there is very little space to write a memo description. For example for in preparation for christmas if a church member bought new lights and we want to record that as a reimbursement there is no/very little place to record that detail or am i missing something. in the AP screen all we can do is enter the account code and the account name with the check made toa person. it is not possible to write a note regarding a transaction and that is very critical for us. Any help would be great.

In the current version of the software, the memo field is fairly limited (25 characters). In version 9 (due out 2Q 2004), the accounting system is getting an overhaul, and one of the new enhancements will be notes fields everywhere. These fields will hold over 65 thousand characters. If you intend to be more verbose than that, I don't think we can help you.

I assume you are referring to version 9 can you tell me when it is scheduled to be released. Thanks for your prompt response.

Version 9, the next full release of PowerChurch, is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2004 (late spring or early summer). Since it's still in development, we don't have a precise date nailed down yet.
