ver 7 gl will not post transactions

i have used the program for several years and have a new problem. the gl will not accept the transactions for posting no matter what date they have. also the payroll and accts payable wil not post to the current gl month, but will post to an alternate future month. i have tried changing months in gl but to no avail. it will not recognize the transactins
i have reloaded the program in case of a damaged file
