Form 941

Post by Flemingtl »

OK, I just opened up the "941 Assistant" to see how that works for the end of March and the 941 form that it created says "941 for 2010"?? And made a payment voucher for 2010?

I selected 2011 for the year and 1st quarter.
I am using PC ver. 11 with the new MR from last week.

Any thoughts?

I believe there will be a new form for 2011 from the IRS. It will be updated in a Maintenance Release before you need it.

I have another question:
I just ran the 941 Tax Deposit Report and it shows the following:
"900 Fed WH -690.84
920 Employee SSI -32.54
921 Employee Medicare -11.23
940 Employer SSI -48.04
941 Employer Medicare -11.23
Total -793.88

Social Security -48.04
Medicare -55.00
Fed WH -690.84"

Any ideas why it combines Employee SSI, Employee Medicare, and Employer Medicare into "Medicare $55.00"?

Do you have the Employee SSI payroll item setup as a Social Security item, or Medicare ??

SSI Taxes are al Social Security Tax Types and all Medicare are Medicare Tax Types.

There's gotta be something in the setup, as I just ran it on my test system, and the report shows everything in the right 'bucket'.

The Social Security and Medicare Tax Types are built into the system, so that can't be the issue. The place they are tied together is under the Maintain Tax Table function. That is where the tax tables are tied to the tax types.

If that is correct, then I'm out of ideas, and the Powerchurch guys may have some.

You probably need to contact support. It sounds like something is cross linked in the data and marked incorrectly as to what type of tax it is.
