In NC, to apply for a sales tax refund, I have to list the total of the purchases, plus the tax broken out by county. Where in PC can I record this info. together? I record my purchases in the various expense/asset accounts, and the sales tax separately. Not sure where I can see the total of the purchases that correspond to the sales tax I want to file. Also, where/how would I keep track of tax by county? I saw some previous posts on this, but it didn't address these 2 issues.
Thanks,

I'm not sure you can do this for US states. I know that there is a configuration for Canadian users, but not sure about US.Heidilr1 wrote:In NC, to apply for a sales tax refund, I have to list the total of the purchases, plus the tax broken out by county. Thanks,
Most churches I know of have a sales tax exemption form that they use and don't have to pay sales tax.

You can set up Accounts Payable to prompt for the amount of tax when you add a new invoice or manual payment. We added in version 11.1 a note field where you can enter the county the tax was paid in. When it comes time to file for the refund, use the account activity report for your sales tax reclaimable account. You will have to manually add up the amounts for each county.

A feature I didn't know about ... again, probably due to the fact we use that sales tax exemptionJeff wrote:You can set up Accounts Payable to prompt for the amount of tax when you add a new invoice or manual payment. Canadian churches can reclaim a portion of their sales taxes they pay. North Carolina is the only state I know of that allows non-profits to reclaim the sales tax they pay. The hard part in North Carolina is you have to know the county where the tax was paid.
