soo frustrated, setup error

Post by F12Mahon »

While redoing setup because of an error, I made another. :wall: :wall: One offering deposit of $731.00 got entered as a check. This was an outstanding activity from December of last year. I can't void it because software tells me Dec. 2010 is a closed month. Is my best option to make two $731.00 deposits to make my balance correct? It will throw of my income for the year since I can't enter anything with last year as a date...I tried.

I take it you're using v10 or 11 ?? You can open up the number of months available if you did not 'manually' close the month.

The default setting for Powerchurch is 6 months open, you can do up to 18. You need to go into the drop down menu File -> Preferences -> Accounting. There you can set the number of open months to 12 or 18. You should be able to access Dec 2010 after that.

If this was a transaction that was entered in the "outstanding" transactions section of the accounting setup, there isn't a way in the program to enter corrections or reverse that transaction. Give us a call in tech support at (800) 486-1800 and a technician will help get it fixed up for you. We are available from 9AM to 6PM Eastern, Monday through Friday.

Neil, I have 12 months open but that is not the issue. Zorak figured out what I was trying to say.

Zorak, That is exactly the problem. I will be giving Tech Support a call later this week. It is great news that they can help me fix this.
