Bounced or Returned Checks

How do I record checks that are bounced by the bank?

Are these contribution checks or checks written by the church ???

Contributions checks from outside, but you bring up a good point. What about checks written by the church that bounced (if any). I'm going back in history so I don't know if any church checks bounced, but I would like to know what to do in that scenario. Thanks again!

For a contribution check that bounced, go to contributions -> view posted contributions. Navigate to the contributor and select the contribution from their list of contributions. Select the reverse button at the bottom of the screen. This will create a reversal entry. If your bank charged you any amount you may need to enter a transaction in fund accounting for those fees.
