Entering Fundraiser Income

Our church just had a BBQ Dinner to raise funds for our General Account what is the proper way to enter the income? I know I can enter it through the Contributions Module but was wondering if I should use the Account Receivable Module instead. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated!

The Accounts Receivable module keeps track of outstanding "bills", like for a church school tuition.

In this case, you have the income in hand, so you can enter it through the Contribution module.

Contributions / Setup / Maintain List of Contribution Funds
Fund 301
BBQ Income
(on the General Tab drop down box) choose:
Services Received
Uncheck the box to have this appear on statements (optional, but I would do that)

(on the Accounting Tab)
DB 01-1110-000 checking
CR 01-4190-000 BBQ Income
