debited wrong liability acct

Hello, and thanks in advance. I printed a check for the senior pastor's and youth pastor's retirement benefits; however, I debited the accrued youth pastor's retirement liability account twice instead of debiting the sr. pastor's along with youth pastor's. The check amount is correct (and has been mailed); the liability accounts are off. I pay retirement benefits monthly. What should I do?

Did you already post the transaction to Funds Accounting ?? I'm assuming that you're not using the Payroll module.

If you didn't post (again assuming) Accounts Payable, you can correct the transaction. If you've posted to Funds Accounting, have you already posted that transaction in FA ? If not, you can go into Unposted Transactions, and correct the liability account there.

However, without more information, I can't give you more specifics.
