I've run into several situations where the field for the name of a vendor isn't long enough to hold the entire name. I end up either having to abbreviate the name (e.g., Christian Education and Publications becomes Christian Educ. and Pub.) or use an acronym and write those checks by hand (e.g., Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals is filed as ACE, and I write the checks by hand so I can specify the entire name).

Is there any way to get the software to allow more characters in name fields? There are other fields that are affected, but the vendor name is the one that has bitten me the most.

As you've probably figured out, the Vendor Name field holds 30 characters (including spaces). Both examples you've given are more than that. I believe that the design idea was to keep the field length low to make sure the name fits on the check when printed. I'll pass this along to program development, but I'd also encourage you to send a note to wishlist@powerchurch.com with your suggestion. That email goes directly to the head of program development.
