MA Standard Deduction in payroll

Post by fpchurch »

We are trying to set-up payroll to run in Church Plus (v. 11.1). The only problem I am finding is when I add the state tax it wants a standard deduction. But when I do a search on the MA standard deduction it says there is none. Church Plus won't let me enter 0. Are these IRS numbers that I should be entering?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at this knowledgebase article:
https://www.powerchurch.com/support/kb. ... 112&type=1

It refers to the 2009 income tax, but should be applicable to the 2013 tax table unless things really changed there.

Unfortunately the link to the 'Withholding Guide" is old, here's the new link:

Thank you that helped! Now my question is about exemptions and withholdings. Is that where I put the amount from the w-4 for allowances? Or is it just 1 per employee for the standard annual allowance? Does that make sense? The Treasurer was supposed to do this but has assigned the task to me.

The manual does have plenty of information to assist you. FWIW .. if you press the F1 key, the same information will appear in the online help.
