I have a group called Associate Pastor Expenses that all items are inactive (since we no linger have an AP) but when I run an IE report the Group Heading: Associate Pastor Expenses still shows up. How can I make the Group Heading inactive?

Have you tried deleting the group account ?? I'm assuming its already inactive.

If I do that will we still have access to the data from the past?

No data gets assigned to the GROUP account. In the future, if you want to reactivate the Detail accounts, and you want everything to look the same, you will have to ADD the GROUP account back into your Chart of Accounts to get the same grouping.

I would think so. I'd do a backup first .

That said, have you tried running a report for a period where there is nothing in the detailed accounts. I just tested it and the header still appeared on the report as long as there is data in the detailed accounts for the period.

However, when you get to a reporting period where there is nothing against the detailed accounts, it should no longer appear.

Deleting the Group Heading worked. It did have activity because it was associated with the Liability accounts for SS and Med benefits. Thank You!

Don't quite follow .. this is group account, but you have activity against this account? Or are you saying that it had level 5 or 6 detail accounts under it that had activity?

Yes the detail accounts under that heading
