Searching Contributions by check number

Is there anyway to search for a donation by check number? We have a family who says they gave a certain check and we cannot seem to find it. We enter the checks in manually and I have gone through every contribution statement for last year and cannot find that check number or any other check for that specific amount.

You can create a custom report to search for the check number. I'd search for the exact check number.
