Differentiating between regular donors & one-time donors

I'm new to the accounting/contributors side of Power Church and I have a question.

Because Power Church requires an envelope number to be assigned to every donation, this year we generated a massive amount of tax receipts, many of which belong to people who attended once and made a donation, friends/relatives of our youth who made a one-time donation to their missions trip, etc. Some have incomplete information and cannot be mailed (those who used an envelope with nothing more than their name or part of their name on it). We encourage our regular attenders to pick up their tithe receipts to save us money on postage, but many of them we aren't sure about.

Is there some way within Power Church to differentiate between regular tithers and one-time donors? At my old church tithe numbers were only given to those who asked for them and contributed on a regular basis, but here we are assigning tithe numbers to absolutely everyone who gives a check in the offering or uses an envelope, even if it's only partially filled out. Suggestions please!

You can assign one number (we chose 9999) for all anonymous donations or nonmembers who don't put their address on the envelope.
We only use envelope numbers between 1 and 1,999 for members.
We use envelope numbers 2,000-2,999 for visitors with addresses.
If we have a mission trip we are raising donations for, we can assign a range of numbers to that group (8,000-8,500).

FWIW .... we give everyone a number:

Loose Cash: 99
Sunday School Collection: 98
Regular member: 100 thru 1000
Archived Member (moved, deceased, etc): 1001 thru 1500**
Visitors (includes one time donations) 2000 and up ***

** These are records we have to maintain for at least 3 years per IRS rules
*** These are used until either a visitor becomes a member, thus gets a number in the regular member series, or 3 years go by whichever comes first.

After three years the data is deleted.

We don't lump everything into one envelope number for visitors, etc. You never know if someone will call the church and ask for a contribution report.

and if you assign one-time givers a range of numbers outside of regular givers, you can choose to print only the range of numbers of regular givers in the contribution report form for ALL Contributors.

That way, you only print out tax forms for a certain range of envelope numbers.

If a one-time giver asks for a print-out, the information is there, and you can print out one Individual form.

That is brilliant. Why didn't I think of that? This will be my new approach, thanks!
