Contributions reports

Postby smecjc » Tue Aug 14, 2012 9:25 am

I post my contributions directly to the accounting module. Before I post in the contributions module, I print the "Unposted Contributions report", which is helpful for reviewing individual entries. However, what I would like to see is a summary of what will post to each general ledger account, before I post. Then I could see at a quick glance if someone's gift was entered incorrectly, and could correct it before any posting occurs. Right now, all I can do is wait to see it sitting in the accounting module to see it in summarized form. Is there a report out there for this?

As long as you know how you have your Contribution Funds setup, that is, what Funds Accounting accounts they are setup to post to, you can use the Funds Report to see how much was contributed to each fund.

This is something I never thought of doing but tried today, and found it very reassuring when the numbers matched what our counters had given me for each fund. Thanks to you, smecjc, for asking the question, and to you, NeilZ, for posting the answer. I'll be adding this step to my weekly routine to ensure accuracy.
