Stock Donations

Hi there

I am a new user running 8.5 - got it about a year ago but did not really begin to use the product until now. I reviewed the contributions forum and it looked like I may have found an answer to how to enter these items but I got a 404 error (presumably because the tech help was pretty old and things have changed). In any event - in the past on a different system (ACS) I would have entered the item as a contribution with no value but a statement that 100 shares of XYZ were donated on such and such a date. Is there a way to accomplish this same transaction in PowerChurch 8.5?

IRS publications 526 and 561 have guidance on what the receiving organization must provide. Specifically pages 13 & 14 of publication 526 detail what is to be provided based upon the value received.

I think you could establish what you want by running that single envelope number and placing that statement when you are going through the set up to run that statement.

That would work - but is not particularly elegant. The stock donation would appear at the bottom of the report rather than in date sequence. How are others handling this?
